DIY Popsicle Match Game!

Created On: September 16, 2015  |  Updated: October 19, 2021  |

I love this simple craft idea because you can do it with your child or group of children, or they can do it as a solitary activity and show you the results!

Simple craft idea! Such and easy and effective learning activity! Pin for later!Supplies Needed:
construction paper (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, pink, white)
scissors
glue stick
permanent marker
craft sticks
supplies
How to Make:
1.) Lay your popsicle stick down on a piece of paper and decide how large you wild like it to be. (Please refer to the pics in this post that show wide enough room to seal the edges and short enough to only let the stick go in half way. Draw your template and cut it out.
step 1
2.) Use your template to cut two of each color (a front and back piece)
step 2
3.) With each pair of colors, apply a line of glue along the arch, leaving the bottom open without glue. Put the two matching color pieces together and let the glue dry for each set.
 step 3
4.) Cut out rectangle pieces of each color that will fit on the ends of each popsicle stick.
step 4
5.) Apply glue to each colored rectangle
 step 5
6.) Secure to the very end of each popsicle stick.
 step 6
7.) Flip the sticks over one by one and write the color name on the same end of each stick.
 step 7
Help little ones learn how to gently guide the sticks into the paper popsicles to avoid frustration or damage.
 step 8
Let them play and learn!
TIP: Store in a ziploc to re-use!
