Part of becoming a fluent reader is learning what the beginning sounds of words are. We are currently working through Spelling You See with our 6 year old kiddo, but wanted to do something fun on the side to help him with sounds.
Be sure to check out our other fun learning games here!
This game is super easy for you to set up, no prep! Just print and let the fun begin! Here is how to play:
Game Markers/Legos/ect (2 different colors)
Make spinner with paper clip and pencil. Players spin the paperclip and may cover up any picture that starts with that sound.
If there is one marker on a picture they want to cover up they have two options….
a.Bump off that marker if it belongs to their opponent
b.Add another marker, securing that picture
The game ends when all pictures are secured. The player with the most secured pictures wins.
